From a young age, Steven has worked in logistics. First as a side job during school and later full-time. Even after facing a major health setback, he found his way back to his true passion: logistics. Today, Steven works as a logistics worker via Dujob and he’s exactly where he wants to be.
Steven currently works full-time in logistics, mainly handling incoming goods.“I process everything that comes in. I also support internal logistics, such as moving items from one department to another or between the warehouse and production. On top of that, I help with shipping. So, I’m always busy,” he explains.
Although he enjoyed his previous job, he realized he wasn’t growing anymore. That’s when he posted his CV online, and Kasia, a consultant at Dujob, reached out with a vacancy at Kuyer Metaal. The role and company felt like the right fit, and he decided to make the move.
Steven has now been working at Kuyer Metaal for more than six months. The company is implementing a new logistics system, and he’s closely involved in this project. “It’s three different programs that need to work together. Of course, it doesn’t go smoothly right away, but that challenge makes the work interesting.”
Steven values the support he gets from Dujob. “The application process went smoothly, and I received useful tips for my job interview. Even now, I can always reach out with questions, like about my working hours. If something goes wrong, it’s resolved immediately. That support makes me feel appreciated.”
Although leaving his previous employer was difficult, Steven quickly felt at home at Kuyer. The team is small and informal, and he appreciates being treated as more than just a number. “Everyone is approachable, even management and the owner. You’re treated as a person here, which is something I’ve not always experienced at other companies.”
A few years ago, Steven faced a serious challenge: he was declared unfit for work for two years due to an autoimmune disease. “Even climbing the stairs at home was exhausting. But I didn’t give up. With help from my physiotherapist, I started running. Step by step, I rebuilt my strength and even signed up for a marathon. It gave me so much confidence.”
Steven doesn’t make long-term plans, but he dreams of one day growing into a management role in logistics. For now, he enjoys being an active, social team player. “In logistics, you’re always on the move and never standing still. That’s what makes the job so much fun.”
His passion, perseverance, and positive outlook make him a valuable professional in the logistics sector.
